Course Overview

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support – Disability, reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people with a disability to:.

  • achieve greater independence
  • being more involved in the community
  • gaining employment, and
  • improved wellbeing

At the successful completion of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised CHC33015 - Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

There are 13 units of competency that must be successfully completed to achieve the qualification, CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability, which includes 7 core units and 6 elective units.

Duration

This course is delivered with 18 weeks of online learning with support tutorials, 7 simulation days and 120 hours of work placement, over a 6 month period.

Alternate duration and delivery schedules may be available depending on individual student needs. Please discuss your individual needs at the Pre Training Interview.

Work Placement

As a compulsory component of this course, you will be required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement within a Disability Service. Alpine Institute will organise work placement. 

Placement will commence following successful completion of theory assessments of units.

 

Assessment

To achieve the qualification, the student will need to:

  • Successfully complete compulsory practical training and observation in the workplace of a minimum of 120 hours.
  • Successfully complete all assessment including Written Assessments, Case Study, Simulation/Observation, Online Quiz and Oral Assessment. 

Entry Requirements

Candidates seeking to undertake this course must have:

  • National Police Check – on commencement of this course all candidates are required to complete/have a current National Police Check within 36 months.
  • Immunisation Evidence – Students are required to complete the Alpine Health immunisation status form prior to Enrolment. Current COVID-19 Vaccination is a requirement. 
  • First Aid Certificate – Students must present a current First Aid certificate prior to Enrolment.
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy - Course applicants must complete a Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) test to ensure the required language, literacy and numeracy levels are met for the course.

  • Course Fees include all materials and resources required including 1 x polo shirt. There is a non-refundable amount of $100.00 required to secure enrolment, this amount counts towards your overall course cost.
  • You may be eligible for government funding through the *Skills First Program incentives.
  • This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding to eligible individuals.
