Course Overview

HLT47315 - Certificate IV in Health Administration will equip students with the practical skills and knowledge, and experience required for employment in a senior operational or team leading administrative role in the health industry.The students will gain skills in administration functions including learning about leadership, auditing, coordinating business resources terminology and record-keeping.

This course is designed to either support a Traineeship program or for individuals wishing to formalise existing work skill or gain a qualification in Health Administration.

At the successful completion of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised HLT47315 - Certificate IV in Health Administration under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Duration

This course is delivered via Online tutorial's one day a week with a simulation block of 3 days, over a six month period. 

Alternate duration and delivery schedules may be available depending on individual student needs. Please discuss your individual needs at the Pre Training Interview.

Delivery Method

This course is delivered by a combination of Online Tutorials, face-to-face teaching workshops, self-study learning materials, and ongoing tutor support and mentoring. Students are required to undertake workbook activities and self-paced learning (approximately 19 hours per week).

*This qualifcation can be delivered through a traineeship model.

There are 14 units of competency that must be successfully completed to achieve the qualification HLT47315  Certificate IV in Health Administration. There are 6 core units and 8 elective units.

Work Placement

Traineeships

Work placement will be completed at your place of employment.

Other

You will be required to complete 80 hours of work placement in a health service office environment, depending on the elective units selected. Alpine Institute will organise placement within Alpine Health or other Health Services. Placement will commence following successful completion theory assessments of units.

Assessment

To achieve qualification, the student will need to:

  • Successfully complete compulsory practical training and observation in the workplace for a minimum of 80 hours.
  • Successfully complete all assessment including Written Assessments, Case Study, Simulation/Observation, Online Quiz and Oral Assessment.

  • Course Fees include all materials and resources required including 1 x polo shirt.
  • There is a non-refundable administration amount of $100.00 required to secure enrolment, this amount counts towards your overall course cost. 
  • You may be eligible for government funding through the *Skills First Program incentives.
  • This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding to eligible individuals.

Entry Requirements

Candidates seeking to undertake this course must have:

  • National Police Check – on commencement of this course all candidates are required to complete/have a current National Police Check within 36 months
  • Immunisation Evidence – Students are required to complete the Alpine Health immunisation status form prior to Enrolment. Current COVID-19 Vaccination is a requirement. 
  • First Aid Certificate – Students must present a current First Aid certificate prior to Enrolment.
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy - Course applicants must complete a Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) test to ensure the required language, literacy and numeracy levels are met for the course.
